Taironaka Day Trip

Visit an archaeological park to learn about a Pre-Colombian civilization on our Taironaka Day Trip. Travel back to the 8th century and discover the Tairona's way of life.

Taironaka Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning for a 1-hour journey to the Don Diego River. Following this, there will be a 15-minute walk to the Taironaka Archaeological Park to explore the ancient city of Tayrona.

As we explore, we will walk along the trails examining the archaeological remains of the Tairona people. We will observe the terraces and the remains of staircases while discussing the Tairona Indigenous people's lifestyle from the 8th century.

We will visit the museum to view original pottery pieces. Additionally, we will explore scenic Taironaka park, where weather permitting, we may meet the Kogis, descendants of the Tairona. You will have free time to take a dip in the Don Diego River.

While in Taironaka Park, a typical lunch will be provided, featuring churrasco (grilled beef), salad, and potatoes or rice with shrimp and tostones.

After lunch, we will return to Santa Marta and take you back to your accommodation.
