Taykú Excursion
- 11 Stunden
Join us to explore Tayrona National Natural Park in a different way. On this excursion to Taykú, we'll learn about this indigenous community, including their customs and traditions.
Taykú Excursion
At 7 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Santa Marta to start our journey to the Tayrona National Natural Park.
After a 45-minute drive, we'll arrive at Vereda Calabazo, where we'll meet our guide from the local Kogi indigenous community. We will then embark on a moderately difficult hike to Taykú.
During the hike, you can enjoy the surrounding scenery: gigantic trees, native fauna, lush vegetation, and views of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains. After a two-hour walk, we will reach Taykú and meet community members, learning about their history, culture, and ancestral traditions. A member of the community will give a talk.
At noon, we will have a typical lunch, which includes rice, beans, and meat. Following lunch, you'll have two hours of free time to explore the village, relax in hammocks, and enjoy the tranquility.
At 3 pm, we will return via the same trail to Vereda Calabazo and head back to Santa Marta, arriving at your hotel between 6 pm and 6:30 pm.
