Tayrona Park Day Trip

Explore the jungle and visit dreamlike beaches on our Tayrona Park Day Trip, departing from Santa Marta for a memorable visit to one of Colombia's key ecological reserves.

Day Trip Details

After a 6:30 am pickup from your hotel, we will drive for 1 hour and 30 minutes to Tayrona Park, located between the Caribbean Sea and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Upon arrival, we will receive an introduction to nature conservation, followed by exploration of the jungle trails.

A total of 4 hours will be spent walking among trees over 82 feet (25 metres) high, with potential sightings of iguanas, howler monkeys, ocelots, anteaters, and solitary eagles. We will then visit the beaches of Cañaveral, Arrecifes, Arenilla, and La Piscina, before reaching Cape San Juan del Guía, where you will have time to enjoy local cuisine at nearby restaurants and visit the viewpoint for panoramic views. Afterward, we will return to Santa Marta, with a total duration of approximately 11 hours.

Walking Times

The tour includes a 16-kilometer (9.9 mile) medium-hard hike, which takes approximately 4 hours: 2 hours walking to the destination and 2 hours returning.

Speedboat Trip

There are three speedboat options when booking:

Tour with return trip by speedboat: Returns by speedboat from Cabo San Juan to Santa Marta Bay, allowing more time at the beach. No hotel transfer included.Tour with outward and return speedboat: Both ways by speedboat, includes hotel transfer.

Schedules and Duration

Tour without speedboat transport (11 hours): pickup at 6:30 am.Tour with speedboat transport on the return journey (10 hours): pickup at 6:30 am.Tour with round-trip speedboat transport (8 hours): pickup at 9 am.

Hotel Pickup

Pickup and drop-off are included for hotels in Bello Horizonte, Rodadero, and central Santa Marta. Additional fees of 20USD per person apply for accommodations in the airport area, via Cienaga, or Taganga. Note that tours including walking start at 6:30 am while the speedboat-only option begins at 9:30 am.
