Vic, Rupit & Besalú Excursion
After picking you up at your hotel in Santa Susana between 8 and 9 am, we'll start a route through some of the most charming villages of Catalonia.
In a comfortable minibus, we'll first head towards Besalú, a medieval town rich in history. Upon arrival, we'll cross the famous Old Bridge of Besalú, built in the 11th century over a Roman bridge.
Making our way through the historic center of Besalú, we'll explore its medieval streets and admire its perfectly preserved façades. We'll check out the churches of Sant Pere, Santa Maria and Sant Vicenç, which feature Romanesque and Gothic architecture. We will also visit the Jewish quarter to see its medieval baths before leaving.
Next, we'll head to La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. On a short hiking route through this natural space, we'll see a landscape of beech, oak and holm oak forests alongside extinct volcanoes and lava flows.
The next stop will be in Rupit, considered one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Catalonia. Here, you will have an hour of free time to have lunch at a local restaurant.
We will then head to Vic, passing by Cingles de Tavertet for photos. Once we arrive in Vic, we'll stroll through its Plaza Mayor and see both Gothic and modern-style buildings, including Casa Beuló and Casa Tolosa.
Before returning to Santa Susana, we'll stop at the ruins of the Palau dels Montcada. The excursion will conclude at your hotel between 6 and 7 pm.
