Leave Alter do Chão behind for the day and venture into the Brazilian Amazon on our Amorim Cove Tour. You'll learn all about a spectacular ecosystem in the Amorim River inlet and explore its incredible biodiversity.

Amorim Cove Tour

At 9 am, we'll meet at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão and walk to the boat for our journey along the Tapajós River to Amorim Cove. During the boat trip, we'll pass by Mureta and Jurucuru Lakes, along with Pindobal Beach. Stops will be made at Cajutuba Beach and the Santo Domingo dunes for photo opportunities, and we'll enjoy a selection of pineapple, watermelon, banana, apple, and coconut in Jamaraquá.

After the snack, we'll cross to the region of Amorim and sail to Cabeceira do Amorim, where we will switch to a smaller boat for navigating the canals. Observations of the Igapos and the local wildlife will occur as we explore. Around 1 pm, we'll have a typical dish for lunch and learn about the local lifestyle.

We will then return to Cabeceira do Amorim and board the boat for the return trip, arriving back in Alter do Chão at 7 pm.

What the boat is like?

The boat features four different spaces, equipped for kayaking and paddle surfing, and includes barbecue and music on board.
