Arapiuns River 5-Day Tour

Day 1

Pick up at 9 am from the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão. Board a boat to explore the Arapiuns River, passing Piranhas Lake and Ponta do Cururu to reach Urucurea's Indigenous community. Learn about their way of life, watch a traditional crafts demonstration, and choose between hiking or a canoe tour. Enjoy lunch at a local house, and relax in a hammock before heading to Ponta do Toronó and Grande Lake for sunset viewing.

Day 2

Morning for snorkelling, photography, and relaxation. Board a boat to Coroca community, where you'll learn about their ecotourism and conservation projects, including turtle breeding and beekeeping. Have lunch with locals and proceed to Aruã, with stops in São Pedro and São José. Camp on Mount Sião.

Day 3

Take a boat trip to Aruã Waterfall, explore trails, and taste local food. Option to jump into the waterfall. Camp near the waterfall at night.

Day 4

Depart for Ponta do Papagaio Beach for lunch. Visit São Francisco community for swimming. Continue to Ponta Grande for sunset and bonfire dinner. Choose between camping on the beach or sleeping on the boat.

Day 5

Morning free to explore. Depart for Punta de Icuxi for a local gastronomy dish. Cross the Tapajós River to watch sunset at Ponta do Cururu and return to Alter do Chão around 7 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes 4 nights' accommodation on the boat with meals included. Boat capacity is either 20 or 70 people, with double or single beds available. Kayaking and paddle surfing equipment are provided, along with barbecue and music on the boat, which features four areas.
