Venture into the Brazilian rainforest and discover its wildlife on our 1 or 2-day Tapajós National Forest Tour. Explore lakes and beaches in a captivating natural setting.

Tapajós National Forest Tour

We will meet at 9 am at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão, then board our boat to explore Tapajós National Forest. Initially, we will pass by Jacundá and Mureta Lakes for photo opportunities. We will pause at Pindobal Beach to learn about the rubber industry's history in the Amazon, then continue to Cajutuba beaches for swimming, followed by a visit to the dunes of Maguari.

Our next location is Jamaraquá, where you can see sloths, alligators, and century-old trees. We will have a selection of fruits such as pineapple, watermelon, and passion fruit amidst the lush surroundings. We'll also visit local artisans from Indigenous communities, and you may choose to hike to see the Samauma tree.

A lunch featuring fish and chicken will be provided. Afterward, you can relax in a hammock and enjoy a sunset from a canoe before returning to Alter do Chão at 7 pm.

2-day tour

On this tour, we will camp in the Amazon Rainforest after sunset. You'll have a traditional piracaia dish around a campfire and can choose to sleep under the stars, on the boat, or in a typical hut.

The next day, we'll enjoy a tasty lunch and swim at Pindobal Beach before returning to Alter do Chão.

Accommodation

If you select the 2-day boat tour, you will spend 1 night in double cabins on the boat with a private bathroom. Alternatively, you may stay in a cabin in the Vista Alegre community, which is not included in the tour price.
