5-Day Tapajós River Tour

Day 1

Your adventure begins with a 9 am pickup from the tourist information center in Alter do Chão. We will navigate the southern section of the Tapajós River, cruising past scenic spots including Muretá Beach, Jurucuri Lake, Pindobal Beach, Cajutuba Beach, Aramanaí, Santo Domingo, and Maguari.

Our first stop will be in the Jamaraquá community, where you can enjoy a delightful array of fresh fruits and explore the village. For those eager for adventure, there will be an option to embark on a 4-mile hike (7 kilometers) to marvel at the magnificent Samaúma tree. After the hike, you’ll recharge with a lunch featuring local fish and chicken.

The afternoon is yours to wander and soak in the surroundings. We’ll end the day with a captivating canoe trip at sunset. Afterward, you can rest either by the beach or onboard the boat.

Day 2

Awake to the sounds of the Amazon Rainforest and set off along the riverbanks to discover enchanting locations like Tauar, Perim, Acarantiga, and Pedreira. We’ll pause for refreshing swims and to appreciate Brazil's diverse flora.

Our next destination is Refúgio dos Sonhos in the heart of the rainforest. Once arrived, we’ll gather around a bonfire to share and listen to captivating local stories and legends.

Day 3

The morning is free for you to explore the lodge, orchards, beaches, and trails, and observe the wild animals that inhabit the area. Savor a delicious local-style lunch before we continue our journey to Fordlandia.

After arriving, we’ll enjoy dinner before settling down for the night on the boats.

Day 4

On the fourth day, you will delve into the history of Henry Ford's rubber venture with a guided tour of the abandoned settlement of Fordlandia. You’ll visit key landmarks including the water supply tank, various structures, and even some trucks from Ford Motor Company.

This settlement was created to harvest rubber, but various issues in crop management led to its downfall. We will dedicate the day to exploring the remnants of this ambitious project and the legacy of Henry Ford.

Day 5

Time has flown by! As we prepare to return to Alter do Chão, we’ll board our boats, making several stops to enjoy a refreshing swim along the way. Following lunch, you'll be treated to one final sunset over the picturesque Tapajós River.

We expect to arrive back at Alter do Chão at around 7 pm.

Accommodation

Your tour includes 4 nights of accommodation aboard the boat, with meals provided: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Depending on your booking, the boats can accommodate either 20 or 70 guests, with cabins featuring double or single beds based on availability.

Onboard, enjoy the use of various kayaking and paddleboarding equipment, as well as a barbecue setup and a music system. The boat itself is divided into four distinct areas. Have a wonderful journey!
