Tapajós River Communities Tour
At 9 am, we'll meet at the Tourist Information Centre in Alter do Chão and board our boat to sail the Tapajós River to the Anuma river community.
Upon arrival, we will take a tractor to the Active Forestry Experimental Centre to learn about animal breeding and the use of biological fertilizers and rainwater for organic farming.
At 1 pm, lunch will be served, featuring chicken or fresh fish. Afterward, participants can relax in a hammock with views of the Brazilian Amazon.
Next, we will hike to the hydroelectric dam, where you can enjoy a dip in the water.
We will conclude the tour by returning to Alter do Chão, arriving around 7 pm.
2-day Tour
On the 2-day tour, we will proceed to the Vista Alegre community after Anuma. You may choose to arrive via a 6-mile (10-kilometre) trail or a boat trip through the mangroves.
Locals will welcome us and share their customs, followed by a dinner and a discussion about their fire ritual.
The next morning, we will have breakfast and explore the surroundings on a hike. Lunch will consist of a typical dish, allowing for interaction with the riverside community. Before returning to Alter do Chão, enjoy a sunset at Muretá Beach.
What's the boat like?
You will sail aboard a boat featuring four different spaces, with equipment for kayaking and paddle surfing, a barbecue, and music.
Accommodation
The 2-day tour includes 1 night's accommodation on the boat in double cabins with a private bathroom. Alternatively, you can choose to stay in a cabin in the Vista Alegre community, which is not included in the tour price.
