The stunning landscapes of Cape Finisterre and the beauty of the Costa da Morte coastline await your discovery on this tour from Santiago de Compostela.
Day Trip Details
We will depart from your chosen meeting point in Santiago de Compostela at the appointed time. After approximately 30 minutes of travel, we will arrive in the village of Ponte Maceira to learn about its history and inhabitants.
Next, we will visit the coastal town of Muxia and the Virxe da Barca sanctuary, located by the ocean where we will discuss local history, legends, and mysteries. The visit includes insights into the Pedras d'Abalar and Dos Cadrís.
Continuing along the Costa da Morte, we will stop at the lighthouse of Cape Finisterre. Here, you will hear folk tales about shipwrecks along this coast, known to the Romans as "the end of the earth". You will then have 1.5 - 2 hours of free time for lunch in Fisterra, with the opportunity to try local cuisine.
After lunch, we will visit the village of Muros and take a walk to the Ézaro waterfall, created by the Xallas River, which uniquely flows into the ocean. In Carnota, we will see the world's largest hórreo (granary).
Finally, we will return to Santiago de Compostela via la Ría de Muros and the Costa da Morte.
