Admire enchanting scenery on our day trip to Galicia's famous Rías Baixas. We'll visit beautiful places such as Padrón, Arosa Island, Cambados, La Toja, and Combarro. In addition, you'll be able to take a boat trip and taste mussels.
Description
We'll pick you up at the indicated time from Rua dos Bautizados, 12 in Santiago de Compostela and head to Padrón. This is where the remains of apostle St. James arrived by boat. We'll visit the church dedicated to him, which houses the "Pedrón." A 30-minute tour in Padrón will include a walk along the Alameda to see the statues of Rosalía de Castro and Camilo José Cela. We'll then proceed southbound.
Next, we arrive at the Pontevedra estuary: the smallest of the Rías Baixas. Here in Combarro, we will see traditional Galician hórreos. You will have free time to eat and take a boat ride with mussel tasting.
The next stop is the island of La Toja, where we'll visit the famous Chapel of the Shells. After enjoying the island's landscapes, we'll head to Cambados, where you will have free time to explore this town known for Albariño wine.
We will then go to the island of Arousa, where you'll have free time for a swim, drink, or walk. Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Santiago de Compostela, arriving ten hours after departure.
Boat trip with mussel tasting
You can opt for a boat trip along the Rías Baixas, lasting 1 hour 15 minutes, where you will see mussel beds and enjoy a mussel tasting with a choice of local wine or soft drinks. In low season (April, May, June, October), the boat departs from O Grove. In high season (July, August, September), we depart from the marina in Combarro. Non-participants will have free time in O Grove or Combarro. After the boat trip, we'll return to Santiago de Compostela.
