Admire enchanting scenery on our day trip to Galicia's Rías Baixas, visiting Padrón, Arosa Island, Cambados, La Toja, and Combarro. Enjoy a boat trip and mussel tasting.
Description
Your tour begins with a pickup at Rua dos Bautizados, 12 in Santiago de Compostela. First, we travel to Padrón, the gateway to the Rías Baixas. Here, we'll visit the church dedicated to St. James and see the "Pedrón" stone. After a 30-minute tour and a walk along the Alameda to view the statues of Rosalía de Castro and Camilo José Cela, we head south.
Next is the Pontevedra estuary, where we explore Combarro, known for its traditional Galician hórreos. Enjoy free time for lunch and a boat ride with mussel tasting.
Our next destination is La Toja, known for the Chapel of the Shells. Afterward, we visit Cambados, the capital of Albariño wine, with time for leisure.
We'll conclude on the island of Arousa, allowing free time for swimming, drinks, or walking. Return to Santiago de Compostela is scheduled ten hours after departure.
Boat trip with mussel tasting
You can enhance your experience with a 1 hour 15 minutes boat trip in the Rías Baixas, including views of mussel beds and a mussel tasting session with local wine or soft drinks. In low season (April, May, June, October), the boat departs from O Grove, while in high season (July, August, September), we depart from Combarro. Those not taking the boat trip have free time in the respective locations. After the boat trip, we return to Santiago de Compostela.
