Let yourself be enchanted by the beautiful Rías Baixas on this excursion from Santiago de Compostela. You'll enjoy a boat trip on the Pontevedra Estuary and a tasting of local wine and mussels.
Rías Baixas Day Trip
After meeting at Rúa dos Bautizados in Santiago de Compostela, we'll set off to Pontevedra, the capital of the province of the same name.
We'll embark on a guided tour of the historic centre of Pontevedra, known for its Medieval monumental complex, including the Gothic ruins of the Convent of Santo Domingo. We'll admire the Renaissance influence in the Praza da Ferraría and the Basilica of Santa María a Maior.
Next, we'll travel to the port of Combarro to commence our boat trip across the Ría de Pontevedra. The cruise will feature lush coastal landscapes and Tambo Island. During the boat ride, we will have a wine tasting with mussels, a local delicacy.
After docking in Combarro, you will have 2 hours of free time for lunch in this picturesque town. Then, we will visit the Chapel of the Virgen de la Lanzada for panoramic views of the longest beach of the Rías Baixas.
To conclude the day trip, we will take a walking tour of Cambados, capital of Albariño wine, where we will see the Igrexa de San Bieito church and the Pazo de Fefiñáns, a 16th-century palace.
We will return from Cambados to Santiago, arriving approximately 10 hours after the start time.
