Tour Details
We'll meet the guide and the rest of the group at Plaza del Obradoiro, the core of this pilgrimage city.
You'll admire the western facade of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, built in the 18th century. The guide will also point out the Pazo de Raxoi, a Neoclassical palace in front of the cathedral, and the Hostal de Los Reyes Católicos, considered the oldest hotel in the world.
We will wander through the squares behind the cathedral, learning about the histories of Quintana de los Muertos and Quintana de los Vivos. Then, we'll proceed to Plaza de Platerías, featuring the beautiful Fuente de los Caballos.
This World Heritage Site is rich in legends and myths, which your guide will share as we walk to the University of Santiago. Here, we’ll take Calle del Franco, known for its bars and restaurants. The tour will conclude in Parque de La Alameda with the statue of Las dos Marías, honoring two sisters who once walked this street.
The free walking tour lasts a total of 2 hours.
