Tour to Muxía and Fisterra
On this excursion to Muxía and Fisterra, we will explore two towns of the Costa da Morte. We will visit the viewpoint of the End of the World and explore the connections between the apostle Santiago and these lands.
At the specified time, we will meet at Rúa dos Bautizados in Santiago de Compostela. From there, we will board a bus to start the excursion to Muxía and Fisterra.
Our first stop will be the lighthouse of Fisterra, built in the mid-19th century. This location features the viewpoint of the End of the World, which is also the supposed kilometer 0 of the Camino de Santiago. We will enjoy views of the Costa da Morte and, after an hour of exploration, we will take a bus to the town of Fisterra. You will have 1 hour and 15 minutes of free time to have lunch and explore, including opportunities to visit the port, the 12th-century church of Nuestra Señora de las Arenas, or the castle of San Carlos.
Next, we will visit Muxía, where we will go to the sanctuary of the Virgen de la Barca, which has a significant connection to the Camino de Santiago. We will discuss its history and the magical-religious value of the stones near the temple.
We will conclude the excursion and return to the starting point 6.5 hours later.
