Vigo & Baiona Day Trip
On the morning of the excursion, we'll meet at the Praza da Galicia in Santiago de Compostela to start our route to the south of Galicia.
Our first stop is Vigo, the biggest city in Galicia. We'll visit Casco Vello, exploring the Praza de Constitución Square along with historic buildings and terraces. We will see the Santa María de Vigo Co-cathedral and then head to the A Pedra Market to experience the local aromas and tastes. Next, we'll visit Monte del Castro, capturing views and exploring the Castelo do Castro.
We will walk along cobblestone streets to Porta do Sol, home to the famous Siren sculpture. After learning about its significance, we'll stroll down Rúa Príncipe, where you'll have free time to eat.
Continuing to Baiona, we'll walk the Rúa del Conde to the Colegiata de Santa María, an 18th-century gothic church, and visit Capilla de la Misericordia. We will also see the Baiona Parador, a medieval fortress that houses a famous hotel, and visit the Virgen de la Roca statue while learning about the Discovery of America.
You will have free time to explore Baiona before we conclude the excursion, 11 hours later, back at the meeting point in Santiago.
