Cuban Revolution Tour
Fidel Castro's words encapsulate the spirit of the Cuban Revolution conducted in the 1950s. This tour allows us to experience the history of this movement, one of the most studied historic events of the 20th century.
The tour starts in front of the Casa Granda Hotel in Céspedes Park. We will admire the Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba before boarding a classic vintage car. This car will take us to the Palace of the Provincial Government, now the Emilio Bacardi Museum, key to understanding mid-twentieth-century politics.
Next, we visit the Moncada Barracks, attacked on July 26, 1953, by guerrillas against the Batista regime. Led by Fidel and Raúl Castro and Abel Santamaría, this attack, although unsuccessful, initiated the 26th of July Movement, which eventually contributed to the Cuban Revolution's triumph in Havana on January 1, 1960.
We will also visit the 26th of July History Museum, which provides context for both the barracks and the Revolution. Following the museum, we'll take a horse-drawn carriage to the Santa Ifigenia cemetery.
At the cemetery, we'll stop at the tomb of Fidel Castro, near the mausoleum of José Martí. The tour concludes with a drive back to the starting point, lasting 4 hours.
