Santiago de Cuba Complimentary Tour
At the designated time, we will gather at the Parque La Placita to kick off this complimentary walking tour in Santiago de Cuba. Are you prepared to uncover the hidden stories of one of the country’s most ancient cities?
Our journey will commence through the vibrant streets, where we will explore the historical significance of Santiago de Cuba. A highlight will include a visit to the exterior of the Don Diego Velázquez House, recognized as one of the earliest Spanish constructions in the Americas. Here, we will discuss remarkable events from the life of this key historical figure.
Furthermore, we will take a look at the outer structure of the Emilio Bacardí Museum, established by a former mayor of Santiago de Cuba. This site contains an armoury, relics of independence leaders, paintings, and even mummies from various global locations.
Our exploration will continue as we observe additional facades, including those of the Lucha Clandestina Museum and the Moncada Prison. During this segment of the tour, we will gain insights into the 26th of July Movement, an initiative spearheaded by Fidel Castro aimed at opposing Fulgencio Batista's dictatorship.
Following a two-hour adventure, we will conclude this experience at the Historia 26 de Julio Museum.
