Description

Day 1: Cusco - Aguas Calientes

At the appointed time, pickup from your hotel in Cusco will occur, followed by a 2-hour drive to the Ollantaytambo train station. You will then board a train for a 1.5-hour journey to Aguas Calientes. After addressing your luggage at your hotel, the remainder of the afternoon and evening is free for exploration.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

After breakfast, a bus will take you to Machu Picchu for a 2.5-hour guided tour of key Incan sites. Following the tour, there will be 30 minutes to explore or hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountains for elevated views. The day concludes with lunch in Aguas Calientes before returning to Cusco.

Pickup

Pickup occurs between 6 am and 9 am from hotels in the historic centre of Cusco. If outside this area, meet at the Cathedral in Plaza de Armas. The exact pickup time will be confirmed prior to the tour.

Types of Train

Travel is on panoramic trains with large windows; options include economy class (Expedition or Voyager train) and first class (Vistadome or 360º train).

Departure Stations & Duration

Trains depart from Poroy station (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo station (1.5 hours from Cusco). During the rainy season, transfers will occur via bus to Ollantaytambo. The trip duration varies by station.

Tickets to Huayna Picchu

Entrance to Huayna Picchu is not included. If desired, inform at booking for a fee of 65USD per person.
