Day 1: Cusco - Aguas Calientes

Pickup from your hotel in Cusco will occur, followed by a 2-hour drive to the Ollantaytambo train station.

Board the train for a 1.5-hour journey to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, check into your hotel in Aguas Calientes and explore the area at your leisure.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Following breakfast, take a bus to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a 2.5-hour guided tour of key Incan sites. After, have 30 minutes to explore on your own or hike up Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountains for views of the site.

Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by the bus ride back to your hotel in Cusco.

Pickup

Pickup is scheduled between 6 am and 9 am from hotels in the historic centre of Cusco. If outside the centre, meet at the Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas. Pickup time will be confirmed shortly before the activity.

Types of Train

Travel on panoramic trains; options include economy class (Expedition or Voyager train) and first class (Vistadome or The 360º train).

Departure Stations & Duration

Trains operate from Poroy station or Ollantaytambo station, depending on availability. Poroy is closed during the rainy season (December to March), and a bus will take you to Ollantaytambo.

The duration varies: Poroy to Aguas Calientes takes about 4 hours, while Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes takes 1.5 hours.

Entry to Huayna Picchu is not included; it costs 65USD per person if desired. Note that the hike must be done independently.
