Chonta Viewpoint, Tarawasi & Killarumiyoq Private Tour

  • 12 Stunden

Discover Chonta Canyon, home of the majestic Andean condor, on this private excursion from Cusco. You'll also visit the archaeological sites of Tarawasi and Killarumiyoq along the way.

Description

At the indicated time, pick-up will be from your Cusco hotel to start the excursion to Chonta Canyon. En route, there is an option for a guided visit to Killarumiyoq, an Inca archaeological site possibly dedicated to the moon, in the town of Anta.

The tour continues to the village of Limatambo for a visit to the Tarawasi ruins, where you can see ancient ceremonial stone altars, known as 'usnu'.

After exploring these archaeological sites, the group will proceed to Chonta Canyon, crossing the Huayronka Bridge. Magnificent views will accompany the journey to the viewpoint.

An hour's travel will lead to three vantage points, where you may observe the Andean condor flying. This magnificent bird, one of the largest, glides in windy areas with minimal effort.

At the Chonta viewpoint, you will have 2 hours of free time to enjoy the views and wildlife, and capture photos. Afterward, the group will return to Cusco, concluding a 12-hour day filled with nature, culture, and history, arriving back at your hotel.
