Machu Picchu Day Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to head straight for the train station to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. Enjoy one of the world's most spectacular railway rides through stunning landscapes. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, a 30-minute bus ride will take us to the Lost City of the Incas.

Our guided visit of Machu Picchu starts as we explore significant landmarks while diving into Inca culture. After the visit, return to Aguas Calientes for free time to enjoy lunch at local restaurants, with 2-5 hours of leisure depending on the train schedule.

Finally, we return to Cusco, arriving at your hotel within 14 to 18 hours.

Types of Train

The excursion utilizes panoramic trains featuring large windows and glass roofs. Options include economy class (Expedition or Voyager train) and first class (Vistadome or The 360º train).

Departure Stations and Transfers

Trains operate from Poroy station (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo station (1.5 hours from Cusco), depending on availability. During the rainy season (December to March), we will travel from Ollantaytambo.

Post-booking confirmation, we'll email pickup times at your hotel and train station, along with the timetable, based on your Machu Picchu entrance ticket.

Duration of transfers: Poroy to Aguas Calientes takes about 4 hours; Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes takes 1.5 hours.

Pickup Info

Pickup is between 4 am and 6 am from hotels in central Cusco. For accommodations outside the center, meet at the Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas. Pickup time will be confirmed based on train availability.
