Machu Picchu Day Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to head straight for the train station that will take us to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. The journey includes a scenic railway ride to Aguas Calientes, followed by a 30-minute bus ride to the Lost City of the Incas.

Upon entering the site, we'll begin our guided visit of Machu Picchu, exploring significant landmarks and uncovering the symbolism and mythology behind Inca culture. After the tour, you'll have free time in Aguas Calientes for lunch, with 2-5 hours of leisure based on the train schedule.

We will then return to Cusco, arriving at your hotel approximately 14 to 18 hours later.

Types of Train

The excursion features panoramic trains with large windows and glass roofs, offering economy class (Expedition or Voyager train) and first class (Vistadome or The 360º train).

Departure Stations and Transfers

Outbound and return trains can depart from Poroy station (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo station (1.5 hours from Cusco), subject to availability. During the rainy season (December to March), Poroy station is closed, and transfers will be via bus to Ollantaytambo.

Upon booking confirmation, we will email you the pickup time and train station, as well as the confirmed timetable based on your Machu Picchu entrance ticket.

The transfer durations vary, with Poroy to Aguas Calientes taking about 4 hours, and Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes about 1.5 hours.

Pickup Info

Pickup is scheduled between 4 am and 6 am from hotels in the historic center of Cusco. For accommodations outside the center, we will meet at the Cathedral door in Plaza de Armas. The exact pickup time will be confirmed closer to the activity date.

If the activity is cancelled due to strikes or weather conditions, we will provide an alternative date. If rescheduling is not possible, you will receive a full refund.
