The tour starts with a pickup from your hotel, followed by transportation to the train station for the journey to Machu Picchu.

The train ride lasts 3.5 hours covering 112 kilometers, providing views of the rural landscapes. After arriving in Aguas Calientes, a 25 to 30-minute bus ride takes you to the Machu Picchu citadel, where a guided tour of 2 hours and 30 minutes begins, allowing you to learn about the Inca settlement.

Following the tour, you will have 2 to 5 hours of free time to explore Aguas Calientes or enjoy lunch, depending on Machu Picchu's operating hours and train schedules. The trip concludes with a bus ride back to your hotel in Cusco.

Panoramic Train

This excursion utilizes panoramic trains with large windows and a glass roof. You can choose between economy class (Expedition or Voyager trains) or first class (Vistadome or The 360º train).

Pickup Point

Pickup occurs between 4 am and 6 am from hotels in the historic center of Cusco. For accommodations outside the center, the meeting point is at the Cathedral in Plaza de Armas. Exact pickup times are confirmed based on train availability.

Departure Stations & Duration

Trains depart from either Poroy station (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo station (90 minutes from Cusco), depending on availability. Poroy station is closed during the rainy season (December to March), necessitating travel to Ollantaytambo by bus. Transfer durations will vary, with a journey from Poroy to Aguas Calientes taking roughly 4 hours, and Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes taking around 1.5 hours.

If the tour is canceled due to strikes or bad weather, an alternative date will be offered, or a full refund (excluding the non-refundable entrance fee of approximately 200 PEN) will be provided. In high demand situations where Machu Picchu tickets are sold out, alternative routes will be offered. If those are full, other remaining options (routes with views) are available at an additional cost of 70 USD (1 person) and 35 USD (for 2 people).
