Rainbow Mountain Hike

Discover the spot where a rainbow fell out of the sky and melted into the Andean landscape on this guided hike of Vinicuna, the spectacularly beautiful Mountain of Seven Colours.

Description

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco for a memorable journey to Rainbow Mountain. After approximately two hours, we will arrive at Kusipata village for a hearty breakfast. Then, we will continue the trip for about two hours to a mountainous community, starting the trek at 4600 meters (15,000 feet) above sea level.

The hike will last about an hour and 45 minutes, leading to the stunning Rainbow Mountain, known for its vibrant colors and its recognition by National Geographic. After photos, we will descend to the bus and return to Kusipata for a buffet lunch, before heading back to central Cusco. This excursion lasts 14 to 15 hours.

Hotel pickup occurs between 4 am - 4:40 am, based on your accommodation's location.

If your hotel is elsewhere, we will provide a meeting point near Plaza de Armas in Cusco.

This route is relatively difficult. Recommended for individuals in good health; those with heart conditions should avoid this activity.The tour reaches altitudes of approximately 16,400 ft (5,200 meters). The hike lasts around an hour and 40 minutes, and acclimatization in Cusco prior to the activity is advised.
