From La Moneda Palace to the Costanera Center viewpoint... Explore the city from west to east and discover the contrasts of the magnificent Chilean capital with this Santiago Panoramic Bus Tour.
Santiago Panoramic Bus Tour
After being picked up from your hotel in Santiago at your chosen time, the first stop on the guided bus tour will be the Club Hípico de Santiago, a thoroughbred horse race track inspired by the famous Longchamp Hippodrome in Paris. As Chile's oldest racecourse, the beautiful building was opened in 1870.
Travel further back in time as you head into the heart of Santiago's historic centre, where you'll visit the Plaza de Armas, the city's main square; the 19th-century Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral; and La Moneda Palace. Once a colonial plantation house and the country's mint, this impressive Neoclassical building serves as the seat of the President of Chile and houses several important government offices.
Next, you will visit the origins of Chile's capital by going to Cerro Santa Lucía, the hill where Santiago was founded on 'Santa Lucía Day' (13th December) in 1540. After exploring the park and its distinctly European feel, you will make your way to the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts, where you’ll see how the Mapocho River divides Santiago into two.
The panoramic bus tour will continue through the bohemian Bellavista neighbourhood followed by the contrasting contemporary area of Santiago, and La Chascona, the Pablo Neruda House Museum.
Finally, there will be a stop at a local handicrafts store near the Central Market, before returning you to your hotel at the end of the city tour.
Tour + San Cristóbal Hill
When making your reservation, you will have the option to substitute the visit to Cerro Santa Lucía with a visit to San Cristóbal Hill, or Cerro San Cristóbal, which affords spectacular panoramic views over Santiago all the way to the Andes mountain range.
Alternatively, if you would like to visit both locations, you can choose the option to do the tour including both hills.
Hotel Pickup
This tour includes pickup and drop-off service at hotels in the following areas of Santiago: Providencia, Las Condes, Vitacura, and Santiago Centro. If your accommodation is in a different district, your guide will contact you to arrange an alternative meeting point.
Itinerary Changes
The Cerro Santa Lucía may be closed due to adverse weather conditions. If this happens, the tour will instead visit the Sculpture Park Museum, the Bicentenario Park, and the Costanera Center.
Please note that both Cerro Santa Lucía and Cerro San Cristóbal are closed on Mondays.
Group Size
This tour does not allow bookings for more than 6 people. If you are a larger group, you can book a private tour of Santiago.
