If you're staying in Cusco and wish to visit Machu Picchu, our train offers a unique journey through the Andes.
Description
You can choose from the following departure stations in Cusco for your train trip to Machu Picchu:
Wanchaq Station: 5:10 am, 12:30 pm, and 4:30 pmSan Pedro Station: 6:40 am and 7:30 amPoroy Station: 6:40 am and 8:25 am
If departing from Wanchaq Station, transfer to Ollantaytambo by bus, then take the train to Aguas Calientes, the access point to Machu Picchu. The train journey lasts between 3 hours 30 minutes and 4 hours.
You can select from two train types to reach Machu Picchu:
Expedition Train
The Expedition train offers stunning views along one of the most scenic railway routes globally. Enjoy the sights through the large windows.
Vistadome Train
The Vistadome train features panoramic windows and ceilings, enhancing your connection with nature. Recorded commentary enriches your journey with information about the places you pass.
Rainy season
From January to April, regular train services from Cusco are limited. Book your journey from Ollantaytambo during these months.
Limited availability
This tour operates on highly sought-after trains, so ticket availability is limited. It is advisable to book as far in advance as possible. Official train tickets will be sent within 72 hours after booking.
