Choose a departure station in Cusco for your train trip to Machu Picchu:
Wanchaq Station: 5:10 am, 12:30 pm, 4:30 pmSan Pedro Station: 6:40 am, 7:30 amPoroy Station: 6:40 am, 8:25 am
Departing from Wanchaq Station includes a bus ride to Ollantaytambo, followed by a train to Aguas Calientes. The total train journey lasts between 3 hours 30 minutes and 4 hours.
There are two train options to Machu Picchu:
Expedition Train
The Expedition train offers a route known for its scenery, featuring large windows for views of the landscape.
Vistadome Train
The Vistadome train includes panoramic windows and ceilings, enhancing the travel experience with recorded commentary about the surrounding areas.
Rainy Season
From January to April, train service from Cusco is limited. Trips can be booked from Ollantaytambo during this period.
Limited Availability
This service is highly sought after, and ticket availability may be restricted. It is advised to book in advance. Official train tickets will be sent within 72 hours after booking.
