Waqrapukara Trip
We will collect you from your hotel in Cusco between 3 and 4 am and head south into the Andes, stopping at Cusipata after two hours to enjoy breakfast before continuing our journey.
We will pass through scenic landscapes, traditional villages, and turquoise lakes, arriving at Pitumarca village in two hours. From there, we will start an eight-kilometer hike to the archaeological site of Waqrapukara.
We will visit the ancient city of the Qanchi civilization, including the Inti Punku site, an ancient fortress associated with Machu Picchu. Inti Punku, meaning 'Sun Gate,' is a notable set of remains near the Inca city, and you will see its main square and turrets.
After our visit to Waqrapukara, we will return to Cusipata for a Peruvian buffet lunch. We will then return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6 pm.
