Opened in 1977, the Santillana del Mar Zoo is an important family-friendly attraction in Cantabria. It features a wide variety of animals and focuses on preserving endangered species. With your ticket, you can observe animals from five continents and visit the Quaternary Park, showcasing fauna from the time of the man of Altamira. Visitors can explore over 20 species including primates, tigers, lions, panthers, butterflies, flamingos, pelicans, bats, and farm animals such as sheep, chickens, donkeys, and ponies.

The average visit duration is two and a half hours, but guests may stay on zoo grounds during its opening hours. Food options are available at the cafeteria and in picnic areas.
