Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Barreirinhas and take you to the Preguiças River, where we'll board a speedboat and sail towards Tapuio.
Our first stop will be to learn about the artisan process of making manioc flour, an important product in Maranhão cuisine, which has become the main economic activity of this town.
Next, we'll sail for 40 minutes until we reach the House of Artisan Women of Marcelino, where an association focuses on crafts made from the buriti palm tree.
The women of this community are responsible for treating the fibers of this plant to create craftsmanship. You will have the opportunity to purchase artisan souvenirs including traditional bags, paintings, and other objects.
We finish the tour by returning you to your hotel in Barreirinhas, concluding three hours of touring.
