Discover the cultural heritage of the Dominican Republic's capital with this Ciudad Colonial Private Tour. Experience the oldest continuously inhabited European-established settlement.

Tour Details

At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Museo de las Casas Reales to begin a guided tour of the Ciudad Colonial neighborhood in Santo Domingo. The first stop will be the Cathedral of the First Church in the Americas, also known as the Basílica Menor de Santa María de la Encarnación. After admiring its exterior, we'll visit the Ozama Fortress, the oldest European bastion on the continent.

The tour continues along Las Damas Street, where we’ll stop at the House of Rodrigo Bastidas and see the residences of Nicolás de Ovando and Dávila, which represent the colonial era. We will also pass by the National Pantheon and the Plaza de España, home to the Alcazar de Colón, and view the ruins of the San Nicolás de Bari Hospital.

Our next stops will be the Casa del Cordón and the Our Lady of Altagracia church. Before concluding the tour, we will enjoy a cocktail or juice at the Museum of Rum and learn about the Dominican liquor tradition.
