Cocoa + Coffee Tour

The Dominican Republic is one of the largest cocoa exporters in the world. Discover it on this tour from Santo Domingo, visiting a chocolate and coffee-producing estate and participating in a casabe de yuca workshop.

Description

At the scheduled time, you will be collected from your hotel in Santo Domingo to explore chocolate and coffee, two key products of the Dominican Republic. You will board a minibus to an estate where various workshops will take place.

The Dominican Republic is known for producing organic cocoa. The tour includes a small hiking experience, traditional crop observations, and a demonstration of cocoa grain processing from harvest to chocolate. You will also learn how to make cocoa on a bonfire and prepare chocolate and artisan casabe de yuca.

Next, you will visit a cenote to relax and swim in its crystal clear waters. Afterwards, a typical lunch in the area will be provided. Following lunch, you will return to the minibus for the journey back to Santo Domingo, completing a total duration of 7 hours.

Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels in the colonial area of Santo Domingo. If you are not staying there, you will need to reach the meeting point at Plaza de Colón Square on your own.
