Fort of San Carlos Tour + Boat Ride
We will meet at Calle Juan de la Cosa to begin this guided tour of the Fort of San Carlos.
Initially, we will walk approximately 3 kilometers to the fort. During the tour, we will provide insights about the significance of these defensive constructions in Santoña.
Upon arrival, we will enter the fort to discuss its strategic position and its role in preventing access to the bay. Santoña was referred to as the Gibraltar of the North and was crucial in the naval history of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Following the fort visit, we will enjoy a one-hour boat ride to the Caballo Lighthouse. Built in 1863, this lighthouse offers picturesque views of Santoña and the Bay of Biscay. It is an ideal photo opportunity.
After two and a half hours, we will conclude the activity in the port of Santoña.
