São Joaquim Apple Tour

In this tour, participants will learn about apple cultivation and distribution, with the opportunity to pick their own apples directly from the tree. The tour begins with hotel pickup in São Joaquim at a chosen time, highlighting that this crop constitutes more than 80% of the city's economy.

The first stop is the Company of Agricultural Research and Rural Extension of Santa Catarina (EPAGRI), which oversees research and rural extension activities in the state. Here, attendees will understand the region's role in preserving and sustainably utilizing natural resources in agricultural production.

Next, the tour will visit a processing facility to explore the stages of apple handling, from harvesting to distribution, including washing and selection. Participants will also learn about the prominent apple varieties from São Joaquim, specifically Gala and Fuji.

The tour continues to an apple orchard where participants can pick apples from the tree and taste them. After four hours, the tour will conclude with a return to the hotel in São Joaquim.

The tour includes hotel pickup in the center of São Joaquim. If staying in a different area of the city, an alternative meeting point will be arranged.
