Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Recife to start this day trip to Olinda, where we'll visit the Ricardo Brennand Institute. Shall we go?
Upon arrival in Olinda, we will first visit the Convent of São Francisco, known for having the largest collection of Portuguese tiles in the state. We will then head to Alto da Sé for a panoramic view of the city and explore significant attractions such as the Cathedral, Misericórdia Church, monastery of São Bento, Ribeira Market, and the Bonecos de Olinda, the popular Pernambuco carnival dolls.
Next, we will visit the Carmo Church, the oldest Carmelite Order temple in Brazil, and return to Alto da Sé for lunchtime.
After lunch, we will proceed to the Ricardo Brennand Institute, which includes the São João Castle-Museum, an art gallery, an auditorium, a Sculpture Garden, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Graças, and a restaurant.
The museum features the world's largest collection of the Dutch artist Frans Post and an extensive display of bladed weapons exceeding 3,000 pieces, including 27 complete medieval suits of armour.
Following a 2-hour visit, we will return to Recife, with an estimated arrival at your hotel 7.5 hours after pickup.
