At the specified time, we will meet at the cathedral in São Luís to begin our guided visit around the capital of the state of Maranhão. A route full of history and curiosities awaits.

We will start by discussing the Metropolitan Cathedral, built in the 17th century with Portuguese influence, recognized as part of the Patriarchate of Lisbon. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

After learning about the cathedral, we will visit the Praça Benedito Leite nearby. We will walk along Rua Portugal to admire the coloured tiled façades of buildings and pass through Rua do Giz, known for its traditional balconies.

We will also visit the Praça dos Poetas, honoring Maranhão’s writers, and the Praça Dom Pedro II. We will make a stop by the Palacio dos Leões, the state Government headquarters, and the Ravardière Palace, the city headquarters.

Finally, we will head to Casa das Tulhas, a traditional market showcasing local artisanal production.

The tour concludes after a 2-hour guided visit around São Luís.
