Want to learn about Asian culture and its influence in Sao Paulo? On this tour of Liberdade, we'll walk through the eastern district of the city and visit the Museum of Japanese Immigration.

Liberdade Tour + Museum of Japanese Immigration

We'll meet at 11:30 am at Praça da Liberdade to start this tour through the eastern district of Sao Paulo: Liberdade.

The tour will cover the history of this neighborhood, known as the center of Asian culture in the city. We'll walk through the streets to Capela de Santa Cruz and Chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Aflitos, historic temples.

Next, we'll visit the Lohan Temple, located in a 19th-century house, discussing its significance as a hub of Chinese culture in Sao Paulo and the impact of Chinese immigration.

Afterward, we'll explore the Museum of Japanese Immigration in Brazil to learn about Brazil's Japanese community, with Liberdade recognized as the world's largest Japanese community outside of Japan.

We will then proceed to Jardim Oriental and Largo da Pólvora park. The tour will conclude in the Liberdade restaurant area, allowing you to sample traditional Asian dishes.

The tour will conclude at around 2:30 pm.
