Tour Details
The tour meets outside the Pinacoteca do Estado at 10 am. The Pinacoteca is a key museum in Brazil, housing over 10,000 works of art. We'll explore this 19th-century building and admire masterworks from its extensive collection of paintings, sculptures, engravings, and photography.
Highlights include bronze statues by Auguste Rodin and paintings by Almeida Junior, among others. We will discuss their significance during the guided tour. Afterward, you will have one hour free for lunch at Praça da Luz.
After lunch, we'll reconvene at the center of the square, where Estação da Luz is located. Here, we will explore the history of Brazilian trains and their development over time.
Adjacent to the station is the Museu da Língua Portuguesa. In this museum, we will learn about the origins of the Portuguese language and its spread across South America, Africa, and Asia.
