Excursion to Gjirokastër

Explore the ancient city of Gjirokastër, known as the 'City of Stone', on this excursion from Saranda. Visit the castle and various museums while learning about the history of this area of Albania.

Excursion to Gjirokastër

At 9 am, we will meet at Tea Tours & Bookstore Toena. We will board the vehicle and journey to Gjirokastra, about an hour away from Saranda.

Upon arrival, the charm of this ancient fortress city will be evident. We will embark on a guided tour of this UNESCO-protected area to explore its Ottoman history.

Our first stop will be the Caste of Gjirokastra. Next, we'll visit the Ethnographic Museum, which replicates interiors of fine 19th-century houses. The tour will also include The House of Zakat and Scaly, the oldest house in the city.

Following this, we will explore the museum house of Ismail Kadare before having free time to examine the city and have lunch.

At the end of the tour, we will return to the vehicle and head back to the meeting point after a total of 5 hours.
