Excursion to Gjirokastër

Explore the ancient city of Gjirokastër, known as the 'City of Stone', on this excursion from Saranda. We'll visit the castle and museums while learning about the history of this area of Albania.

Excursion to Gjirokastër

At 9 am, we'll meet at Tea Tours & Bookstore Toena. Then we board the vehicle and set off for the city of Gjirokastra, approximately one hour away from Saranda.

Upon arrival, the charm of this ancient fortress city will be evident. We'll embark on a guided tour of this UNESCO-protected area and learn about its Ottoman history.

Our first stop will be at the Castle of Gjirokastra. Next, we head to the Ethnographic Museum, which replicates the finest 19th-century houses. We will also visit the House of Zakat and Scaly, the oldest house in the city.

Following this, we will explore the museum house of Ismail Kadare before having free time to further explore the city and to eat lunch.

At the end of the tour, we will return to the meeting point after a total of 5 hours.
