Excursion to Gjirokastër

Explore the ancient city of Gjirokastër, known as the 'City of Stone', on this excursion from Saranda. We'll visit the castle and various museums while learning about the history of this area of Albania.

Excursion to Gjirokastër

At 9 am, we'll meet up at Skënderbeu, 67. Then we board the vehicle and set off on our journey to the city of Gjirokastra, about an hour away from Saranda.

Upon arrival, the historical charm of this ancient fortress city will be evident. We'll set off on a guided tour of this UNESCO-protected area and learn about its Ottoman history.

Our first stop will be at the Caste of Gjirokastra. Following that, we'll visit the Ethnographic Museum, which replicates the interiors of 19th-century houses, and The House of Zakat and Scaly, the oldest house in the city.

Next, we'll explore the museum house of Ismail Kadare before having some free time to explore the city further and have lunch.

At the end of the tour, we'll return to the meeting point after a total of 5 hours.
