Entrance to the Pierre et Lumière Sculpture Museum
Local resident Yann Bouchard initiated the concept of showcasing the Loire Valley's prominent monuments as small limestone sculptures. Sculptor Philippe Cormand is responsible for these artworks, currently on display in the museum. Information panels throughout the visit provide insights into the collaboration between Bouchard and Cormand that led to the establishment of this underground museum in Saumur. Visitors can recognize tiny replicas of structures like Tours Cathedral, the Royal Abbey of Our Lady of Fontevraud, and the Castle and Tower of Trèves.
