Entrance to the Pierre et Lumière Sculpture Museum
Yann Bouchard, a local resident, conceived the idea of showcasing the Loire Valley's monuments as limestone miniatures. Sculptor Philippe Cormand crafted these sculptures, currently displayed in the museum. Information panels throughout the exhibit narrate the collaboration between Bouchard and Cormand that led to the creation of this underground museum in Saumur. Visitors can recognize replicas of notable sites such as Tours Cathedral, the Royal Abbey of Our Lady of Fontevraud, and the Castle and Tower of Trèves.
