Entrance to the Pierre et Lumière Sculpture Museum
Yann Bouchard, a local enthusiast, initiated the presentation of the Loire Valley's notable monuments as small limestone sculptures. Sculptor Philippe Cormand created these pieces, displayed in the museum. Information panels throughout the visit narrate the collaboration between Yann Bouchard and Philippe Cormand that led to the establishment of this underground museum in Saumur. Recognize replicas of Tours Cathedral, the Royal Abbey of Our Lady of Fontevraud, and the Castle and Tower of Trèves as you explore the museum.
