Entrance to the Pierre et Lumière Sculpture Museum
Yann Bouchard, a local, conceived the idea of showcasing beautiful Loire Valley monuments as small limestone sculptures. Sculptor Philippe Cormand produced these works displayed in the museum. Information panels throughout the exhibit detail the collaboration that led to the creation of this underground museum in Saumur. Notable replicas include Tours Cathedral, the Royal Abbey of Our Lady of Fontevraud, and the Castle and Tower of Trèves. Visitors can identify these miniature versions while touring the museum.
