Tybee Island Day Trip & Dolphin Watching
On the Tybee Island Day Trip, we will explore significant sites from the American Civil War and enjoy dolphin watching. The trip begins at the Savannah Visitor Centre, where we will board a bus to Tybee Island in Chatham County.
Upon arrival, we will take a scenic tour of historic sites including Fort Pulaski, known for its role in the Civil War and its innovative use of rifles. We will also visit the Tybee Island Lighthouse and Cockspur Island Lighthouse, the latter being notable for its survival during the battle of Fort Pulaski.
After the tour, we will stop at the Crab Shack for a break, allowing some free time for lunch at this well-known restaurant.
Post-lunch, we will board a boat to search for bottlenose dolphins, observing these mammals in their natural habitat, along with various seabirds. After the boat tour, we will return to Savannah by minibus.
