Wormsloe & Bonaventure Cemetery Day Trip
On our day trip to the Wormsloe Historic Site from Savannah, we will explore Georgia's history, including a visit to Bonaventure Cemetery.
We will pick you up at 9:30 am from the Savannah Visitor Centre and drive to Bonaventure Cemetery, established in 1846. The guided tour will take us through moss-covered oak trees and 19th-century funerary monuments, showcasing realistic and expressive sculptures.
During our stroll, we will see the tombs of notable figures such as composer Johnny Mercer, philanthropist Mary Telfair, and Georgia's first governor, Edward Telfair.
Following the cemetery visit, we will have a 1-hour break at the Erica Davis Lowcountry Restaurant to enjoy traditional Southern cuisine, including grilled dishes and seafood specialties.
After lunch, we will visit the Wormsloe Plantation, a Historic Site on the Isle of Hope, known for its iconic oak trees linked to Georgia's history. We will uncover significant historical events related to this location.
The trip will conclude with a brief stop at the Savannah Byrd Cookie Company before returning to Savannah, arriving at approximately 3:30 pm.
