If you love history and archaeology, our day trip to Syracuse and Ortigia Island is perfect for you! You'll see ancient Greek and Roman buildings and stroll through an old town with UNESCO World Heritage status.

Syracuse & Ortigia Island Day Trip

Having met up at 6:45 am at your chosen meeting point, we'll board a minibus that'll take us to Syracuse. The drive there from Sciacca will take 3 hours 30 minutes.

The first stop of the day will be at the Neapolis Archaeological Park, where you'll have 1 hour 30 minutes of free time. You can explore the ancient site in Syracuse, including the Greek theatre, Roman amphitheatre, ruins of ancient altars and temples, and caves used as prisons.

We'll then return to our vehicle and head to Ortigia, the old town of Syracuse. You will have 4 hours of free time to explore the island. You can learn about the city’s significance as a Mediterranean hub 2,700 years ago. This area is a World Heritage Site.

As you walk around Ortigia Island, you'll see the ruins of the Temple of Apollo from the 6th century BC, the Cathedral, the Fountain of Arethusa, Maniace Castle, and more. You can also sample some local gastronomy during your time there.

Our day trip will conclude at 8 pm when we drop you back at the starting point.
