Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Semarang and drive through Central Java for about 3 hours. Our first destination is Borobudur temple, the largest Buddhist monument in the world.

We'll explore this grand pyramid, composed of nine platforms and covered by 504 statues of Buddha. At the foot of the monument, we'll discuss the legend of its origins. As we walk along the ancient track around the temple, we'll learn about its significance as the most visited Buddhist pilgrimage site in Indonesia.

Ten minutes away, we'll find the temples of Pawon and Mendut. As we consider their stone structures, you'll learn how these temples are interconnected. After this, you'll have 1 hour free for lunch on your own (not included).

We will then proceed to Prambanan, a complex of over 200 Hindu temples. We'll walk through this site and find out why the Sanjaya dynasty aimed to create the largest Hindu temple in the world. Before concluding our visit, we'll see the foundation stone placed in 856.

Finally, we will return you to your hotel, concluding the 10-hour excursion.

Tour Ending in Yogyakarta

At the time of booking, you can choose to end your tour in Yogyakarta instead of Semarang.
