Discover the colonial-style monuments of Java island on this private tour of Semarang. You'll encounter churches, temples, and the rainbow village.
Tour Details
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Semarang and start exploring the historic city center. You'll discover colonial-style architecture at every corner. We'll stop at the church of Blenduk, where Protestants and Catholics have shared an altar for many years.
Next, we'll visit Lawang Sewu, known as "the building of a thousand doors," built in 1917 for the Dutch railway company's headquarters. During World War II, it functioned as a prison and is considered by locals as the most haunted place in Indonesia.
You will then have 1 hour of free time to eat (not included) and rest. Afterward, we’ll admire the Chinese temple Sam Poo Kong, strolling through its gardens and appreciating its red roofs.
We will take a 15-minute drive to Kampung Pelangi, where houses are brightly painted in response to the area's previous reputation. It is now known as the "rainbow village."
Finally, we'll escort you to your chosen finish point, concluding our adventure between 6 pm and 8 pm.
