Glacier Hike in Kenai Fjords National Park
Bright and early, we'll meet at Seward Hwy, where a minibus will transport us to the heart of Kenai Fjords National Park for a journey through the majestic glaciers.
Upon arrival, we'll put on our crampons and trekking poles and set off, covering approximately six kilometers (4 miles) with a change in altitude of roughly 500 meters (1,640 feet). Although challenging, the scenery will be rewarding.
We will explore the Kenai Fjords glaciers, learning about their formation and the effects of global warming. Our guides will also provide insights into the local wildlife, with chances to see bears, moose, mountain goats, or marmots.
During the excursion, a break will be taken for a picnic featuring a sandwich, an energy bar, and a piece of fruit on the glacier ice.
After eight hours of exploration, we will return to our transport and head back to the starting point to conclude the adventure.
