Private Tour of Shanghai's Jewish Quarter
We'll pick you up from your hotel and head to the Hongkou District, where Jewish refugees fleeing Europe settled in Shanghai.
During the tour, we will visit the Ohel Moishe Synagogue, which houses the Jewish Refugee Museum. Afterward, we will walk past Huoshan Park to see the only Jewish community commemorative plaque. Discussions will cover the hardships faced by the refugees and the local solidarity they received.
Next, we'll proceed to Doulun Road, a pedestrian street noted for numerous historic buildings, museums, galleries, libraries, and cafes. This area showcases the cultural and artistic diversity of Shanghai, frequented by many notable writers, artists, politicians, and revolutionaries.
Some places of interest in Hongkou include Lu Xun House, Museum of Modern Art Shanghai, and Duolun History Museum, which details the evolution of this street from the 19th century to the modern era. We will also pass by Kong Xiangxi Temple, built by a Chinese banker and politician.
After 3 hours exploring the intriguing Jewish Quarter of Shanghai, we will return you to your hotel.
