  • 3 Stunden

After World War II, thousands of refugees fled for safety, with many ending up in Shanghai. Join us on this private tour of the Jewish Quarter to learn more!

Private Tour of Shanghai's Jewish Quarter

We'll pick you up from your hotel and head to the Hongkou District, where Jewish refugees fleeing Europe made their new home in Shanghai.

As we stroll through this area, we'll visit the Ohel Moishe Synagogue and the Jewish Refugee Museum. From there, we'll walk past Huoshan Park to see Shanghai's only Jewish community commemorative plaque. The tour will cover the hardships experienced by refugees and the solidarity from locals.

Next, we will proceed to Doulun Road, a pedestrian street featuring numerous historic buildings, museums, galleries, libraries, and cafes. This area highlights the cultural and artistic diversity in Shanghai, frequented by renowned writers, artists, politicians, and revolutionaries.

Notable sites we will visit include Lu Xun House, Museum of Modern Art Shanghai, and Duolun History Museum, which chronicles the evolution of this city street from the 19th century to present. We will also pass by Kong Xiangxi Temple, originally established by a Chinese banker and politician.

After 3 hours exploring the intriguing Jewish Quarter of Shanghai, we'll return you to your hotel.
