Witness the breathtaking beauty of sunrise atop Mount Sinai, a revered site for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Here, you will have a unique view of the oldest active Christian monastery.

Tour Details

Your journey begins with a pick-up from Sharm El Sheikh at the designated time, followed by a scenic drive into the heart of the Sinai peninsula.

After approximately two and a half hours on the road, we will reach the mountainous landscape, where our night trek up Mount Sinai will commence. This ascent includes climbing 750 steps leading to the summit. The challenge will be rewarding as we will experience the sunrise from the very peak, the same location where Moses is believed to have received the 10 commandments of the Old Testament.

Following our descent, we will visit St. Catherine's Monastery at the base of the mountain—the oldest in Christendom. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, dating back to the 6th century, is fortified by impressive walls. Inside, we will explore the Basilica of the Transfiguration, an Orthodox-Christian church notable for its artistic significance.

The monastery houses an extensive collection of codices and ancient bibles, making it the second most important library of its kind worldwide, surpassed only by the Vatican. Outside, you can see the burning bush where, according to biblical accounts, Moses encountered an angel.

Once we conclude our exploration of St. Catherine's Monastery, we will embark on our return trip to Sharm El Sheikh, expected to conclude roughly 15 hours after our initial departure.
