Vientiane Guided City Tour Itinerary

On the morning of your tour, at approximately 9 am, your guide will collect you from your hotel in Vientiane. You will first visit Wat Si Saket, the oldest Buddhist monastery in the Laos capital, and learn about its preserved architecture.

Next, explore more Buddhist sanctuaries, including Haw Pha Kaeo, a former temple that houses a museum dedicated to religious art, and view the Presidential Palace nearby.

Halfway through the tour, visit the COPE visitor centre, which supports victims of Vietnam War bombings. Laos remains the most-bombed country, with many buried land mines posing dangers to the population.

After this, head to Patuxai, a monumental arch dedicated to soldiers who died in World War II and Laos’ war for independence.

Then, visit Pha That Luang, a gold-covered Buddhist stupa, a national symbol of Laos. Stroll around beautiful grounds with gardens and temples.

Your tour will conclude with a walk along the scenic Mekong riverbank before being dropped off at your hotel.
