Finca 6 Archaeological Site Excursion
We'll meet at 8 am at Sierpe's Pier, then set off by road north of the town.
After a 15-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Finca 6 Archaeological Site, where we will explore remnants of the Diquís culture. This pre-Columbian civilization was located in the Osa canton of Costa Rica, which contains significant archaeological remains.
The guided tour of the Finca 6 Archaeological Site, a World Heritage Site, includes observing the mysterious stone spheres of the Diquís culture. We will explore their purpose and construction during the tour.
The tour continues with a visit to the museum at Finca 6, featuring four original artifacts: a sphere, a statue with a spike base, a feline sculpture, and a ceremonial grinding stone. We will learn about their functions and other aspects of Diquís culture.
Following the museum visit, we will return to Sierpe, arriving between 10 and 10:30 am.
