Curious about pre-Columbian history? In this excursion to the Finca 6 Archaeological Site, we'll visit one of the main enclaves of the Diquís culture in Costa Rica.

Finca 6 Archaeological Site Excursion

We'll meet at 8 am at Sierpe's Pier, where we'll set off by road to the north of the town. After a short 15-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Finca 6 Archaeological Site, where we'll see remnants of the Diquís culture, which developed in the current Costa Rican canton of Osa.

We'll begin a guided tour of the Finca 6 Archaeological Site, designated a World Heritage Site, observing the mysterious stone spheres of the Diquís culture. We will explore their purpose and construction during the tour.

Our tour continues with a visit to the museum of Finca 6, where we will see four original pieces of great value: a sphere, a statue with a spike base, a sculpture of a feline, and a ceremonial grinding stone. We will learn about the functionality of these objects and other relevant aspects of the Diquís culture.

After visiting the museum, we will return to the meeting point in Sierpe, where we will arrive between 10 and 10:30 am.
