Habarana Excursion

Discover the traditional lifestyle of Habarana and taste the local gastronomy with this excursion from Sigiriya. You'll also enjoy a boat ride on the lake!

Habarana Excursion

At 10 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Sigiriya and viajar hacia el town of Habarana, about half an hour away.

Upon arrival, we'll switch from the tuk tuk to an ox-drawn cart, a traditional local transport to the shores of Habarana Lake. Afterward, we'll board a boat for a ride across the lake.

Following the boat ride, we'll visit some rice fields to observe the cultivation of Asia's most widely used cereal grain.

Next, we'll return to central Habarana to meet a local family for a cooking class on their traditional recipes. After the class, we'll enjoy a buffet lunch featuring rice, curry, fish, salad, and papadam.

At the end of the excursion, we'll take you back to your hotel in Sigiriya, with an estimated arrival at 1:30 pm.
