Polonnaruwa Excursion + Safari in Minneriya National Park

At 8:30 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Sigiriya and head east towards Polonnaruwa, approximately an hour and fifteen minutes away.

Polonnaruwa was one of the capitals of Sri Lanka and was the seat of the Sinhalese kings for two centuries. We will tour its ancient ruins, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Key sites include the Quadrangle, the Vatadage, the Gal Pota stone-carved inscription, the Thuparama Gedige temple, and the Gal Vihara Buddha sculpture.

After lunch at a restaurant, we will proceed to Habarana, located near Minneriya National Park.

During the safari in Minneriya National Park, we will explore the natural environment in search of native wildlife, including wild elephants observed from just a few meters away.

Following three hours in the park, we will return to your hotel in Sigiriya, arriving at 6:30 pm.
