The Cathedral of Sigüenza is a remarkable architectural gem from the 15th century. This church-fortress captivates with its blend of neoclassical and baroque elements. It holds a prominent place in the Guadalajara province.
When you purchase your ticket, you will have access to an audioguide that details the history of this unique site. Learn how this grand temple, also known as El Doncel de Sigüenza, was once positioned within the city's ancient walls, which were later removed for expansion. The name honors a member of the Vázquez de Arce family, a knight who served and fell in the War of Granada.
Your ticket also provides entry to the Diocesan Museum of Ancient Art, located across from the Cathedral, where you can explore a collection of religious art, including Zurbarán's famous painting of La Inmaculada Niña (the Immaculate Child).
Cathedral Schedule
La Catedral de Sigüenza is open Monday through Sunday from 10:30 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 7:30 pm. The final admission is at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm.
