Ticket Description
The Cathedral of Sigüenza is a remarkable architectural gem from the 15th century that serves as a church-fortress. This structure features a blend of neoclassical and baroque elements and is a key landmark in the Guadalajara province. Your ticket includes an audioguide that will enhance your historical journey through the site. The cathedral was initially built within the city's ancient walls, which were later removed for its expansion. It is also referred to as El Doncel de Sigüenza, named after a knight of Santiago from the Vázquez de Arce family who fell in the War of Granada at age 25.
The ticket also grants entry to the Diocesan Museum of Ancient Art, located across from the Cathedral. Inside, you can explore a collection of religious art, including the notable painting La Inmaculada Niña by Zurbarán.
Cathedral Schedule
La Catedral de Sigüenza is open Monday through Sunday from 10:30 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 7:30 pm. Final admission is at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Opening hours may be subject to change.
